Installing a dedicated EV charger at home or at work is faster, safer and cheaper than relying on a three-pin plug, and it's something we install regularly across Cornwall for both homeowners and businesses. Every installation starts with a quick assessment of your electrical supply, so we can confirm the right charger and any upgrades your consumer unit might need. Older properties sometimes need a consumer unit upgrade first, which we'll flag clearly in your quote rather than as a surprise on the day.

OZEV Grant
The OZEV grant helps cover part of the cost of installing an EV charger. From April 2026, eligible grants increased to up to £500 per socket, and the scheme has been extended until 31 March 2027. It applies if you're a landlord installing for a rental property, a tenant with landlord permission, or living in a flat or home without off-street parking. Since April 2026, most applications go through the government's Find a Grant service directly. We'll confirm your eligibility and support you through the process as part of your quote.

Common Questions
Most homes can, but older consumer units sometimes need an upgrade first. We check this during your survey, so there are no surprises on install day.
A standard 7kW charger takes a typical EV from 20% to 80% in around 5-6 hours, roughly three times faster than a three-pin plug, perfect for charging overnight.
Tethered chargers have the cable built in, always ready to use. Untethered chargers have a socket you plug your own cable into, tidier when not in use and more flexible if you change vehicles.
