Privacy Policy.
This explains what we do with your information when you get in touch or browse this site. Last updated 6 August 2026.
If you send us an enquiry, we use your details to reply and give you a quote, nothing else. We keep a copy of it in an email and in a private spreadsheet so we don't lose it. We don't sell your data or pass it to anyone for marketing. This site uses Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they look at, but only if you say yes to the cookie banner. It's off by default.
Who we are
This site is run by Holloway Electrical Ltd ("we", "us"), an electrical and solar installation business based at 17 Mulberry Gardens, St Austell, PL25 3FZ. We're the data controller for the personal data described in this policy, meaning we decide what's collected and why.
Any questions about this policy or your data can be sent to info@hollowayelectrical.co.uk or 07833 084 005.
What we collect when you contact us
When you fill in a form on this site, the contact form, a callback request, a quote request, or the chat widget, we collect whatever you enter into it. Depending on the form, that's your name, phone number, email address (where asked for) and the details of what you need done. Phone number is normally required so we can call you back; email is optional on some forms.
We use this to reply to you, give you a quote, and carry out any work you go ahead with. This is in our legitimate interest as a business responding to enquiries. It's what you'd reasonably expect when you submit a form asking us to get in touch. Where we go on to do paid work for you, we'll use your details for that under the contract between us, and to meet our own accounting and legal obligations (for example, keeping invoice records).
Where an enquiry goes
We don't run this ourselves from scratch. We use a couple of outside services to make sure enquiries actually reach us and don't get lost:
- Resend sends us an email notification with your enquiry details as soon as you submit a form.
- Google Sheets, where we log a copy of each enquiry in a private spreadsheet, only accessible to us, as a backup record and simple way to track leads.
Both of these are processors acting on our instructions. They don't use your details for their own purposes. We don't sell, rent or share your information with anyone for marketing, and we don't pass it to any third party except where the law requires it (for example, if a court orders us to).
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records (the email and the spreadsheet row) for as long as reasonably needed to deal with your enquiry and follow up afterwards, generally up to 24 months from your last contact with us, unless you go on to become a customer, in which case we keep records for as long as we're required to for accounting and warranty purposes (typically 6 years after the work is completed, in line with UK tax record-keeping rules). You can ask us to delete your enquiry details sooner, see "Your rights" below.
Cookies and Google Analytics
This site doesn't use cookies to log you in or remember a shopping basket. There's nothing on the site that needs that. The only cookies we use are from Google Analytics, which tells us roughly how many people visit the site, which pages they look at, and how they found us, so we can tell if the site's actually working. It doesn't tell us who you are by name.
These aren't essential to the site working, so under UK cookie law (PECR) we ask first. When you land on this site you'll see a banner with Accept and Reject options. Analytics cookies are only set if you choose Accept. If you choose Reject, or close the banner without choosing, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google. You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page.
If you do accept, Google Analytics typically sets cookies named things like _ga and _ga_*, which Google keeps for up to 14 months before it's automatically deleted. You can also block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings, and every major browser has a guide to this in its help pages.
We also use Vercel Analytics to keep an eye on site performance and rough visitor numbers. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't collect anything that identifies you, so it isn't covered by the cookie banner.
Where your data is processed
The services we use, Resend, Google and Vercel, are all established providers with their own privacy and security safeguards, and each may process data outside the UK (typically the US or EU), under the standard legal safeguards required for that (such as the UK's extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or standard contractual clauses). We've chosen them because they're widely used, reputable services, not because we need your data to travel further than it has to.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you, and give you a copy of it;
- correct anything that's inaccurate or out of date;
- delete your data, where there's no good reason for us to keep it;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- give you your data in a portable format, where relevant; and
- withdraw consent at any time, where we're relying on consent (like the analytics cookies above), and this won't affect anything already done.
To do any of this, email info@hollowayelectrical.co.uk and we'll sort it out. If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to sort things out directly first, though.
Keeping your data safe
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect the data we hold. Access to our enquiry spreadsheet and email is limited to the people who need it to run the business, and the services we use (Resend, Google, Vercel) all provide encrypted storage and transfer of data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we don't hold anything more sensitive than the contact details and job descriptions you choose to give us.
Children
This site and our services are aimed at adults arranging electrical or solar work on a property. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if what we collect or how we use it changes, for example, if we start using a new tool to handle enquiries. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version. It's worth checking back occasionally if you want to stay up to date.
